Help Girls Play Sports empower all girls to achieve their potential.

We need you on our team. Sponsorships at every level help GPS bridge this opportunity gap and strengthen girls and our community.

Increasingly, young girls are trending toward early specialization in one sport, working with private coaches, and feeling pressure to join expensive club teams. Often, they are required to travel for their sport. When met with this level of intensity, especially early on, many girls choose—or need—to opt out. We, at Girls Play Sports, appreciate the priceless value of girls participating in team sports. Our team—the staff, volunteers, and advocates—works tirelessly to give all girls the opportunity to participate, the opportunity to belong and to discover who they are to reach their full potential.

Founded in Evanston, Illinois, Girls Play Sports is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the opportunity gap and fostering leadership skills and confidence in girls through participation in a wide variety of sports, regardless of their ability to pay or to play. Our Core Values are: empowerment, community, integrity, leadership, education and fun.

GPS gives girls exposure to 18 different sports through our five signature programs:

  • After-School Clinics (Grades 3-5)
  • Leagues and Tournaments (Grades 4-8)
  • Sports Festival (Grade 5)
  • Summer Sports Camp (Grades 4-8)
  • Team GPS (Grades 5-8)

Our results demonstrate significant success:

  3. We are expanding to other communities starting with Niles North.
